How to take a screenshot on an iPhone or iPad
Published
Menu names differ between software versions. If a path here does not match your phone, search your Settings app for the setting named in bold — it is the same setting under a different label.
Which buttons you press depends on whether your device has a Home button.
Face ID iPhone and iPad
Press the Side button (or Top button on iPad) and Volume Up at the same time, then release both immediately.
Home button iPhone and iPad
Press the Side button (or Top button on older models) and the Home button at the same time.
Back Tap
Tap the back of the iPhone twice.
Set it up first: Settings → Accessibility → Touch → Back Tap → Double Tap → Screenshot.
A whole page, not just the screen
Take the screenshot, tap the thumbnail in the corner, then choose Full Page at the top. Save it as a PDF from the share sheet.
Where it goes
Photos → Albums → Screenshots. The thumbnail in the corner disappears on its own after a few seconds; the screenshot is saved either way.
