Fix BlueMail push notifications on vivo and iQOO

Published

Menu names differ between software versions. If a path here does not match your phone, search your Settings app for the setting named in bold — it is the same setting under a different label.

vivo’s Funtouch OS and OriginOS both close background apps quickly, and the setting that allows an app to keep running is filed under power consumption rather than anything mentioning notifications.

Turn on autostart

Settings → Apps → Autostart (older builds: Settings → More settings → Applications → Autostart, or the i Manager app’s App manager → Autostart manager).

Enable BlueMail.

Allow high background power consumption

Settings → Battery → High background power consumption — enable BlueMail.

The name is off-putting but this is the switch that lets an app hold a network connection while the screen is off. Some versions call it Background power consumption management.

Turn off battery optimisation for BlueMail

Long-press the BlueMail icon → App info → Battery → Battery optimisation → Not optimised (path varies by version).

If mail still arrives late

  • Lock BlueMail in Recents.
  • Check Settings → Notifications and control centre → BlueMail.
  • vivo’s menu layout changes considerably between versions. If a path here does not match your phone, search Settings for “autostart” or “background”.
